Panasonic DMP-BD60 Blu-Ray Disc Player Black – The Best Bargain In Blu-Ray Players
Blu-Ray technology is still evolving and hasn’t yet reached a lot of audience. There are various plus points to this technology over the standard technologies. And as everyone already knows, Panasonic products have a large reputation for reliability. With almost no functions on the device and a handy remote control, the Panasonic DMP-BD60 Blu-Ray Disc Player Black is a very competent device in its class. It is on its way to proving itself as the best at disc-compatibility.
It is an upgraded version from the earlier, entry-level model, the DMP-BD35. The first thing one might notice of this player is its sleek and trendy design which makes it almost invisible in its cabinet. It can decode all of the surround codecs and convert them to compatible forms. The picture output of this player is very crisp and amazing and the sound quality too is highly appreciable. When viewed on a large screen too, the quality of the video being played is crystal clear and shows no disturbances of any sort. One attractive feature of it is to be able to up convert regular, non-blu-ray DVDs. The installation is not at all a problem as it is very user friendly and needs no assistance.
It has the facility to connect to the internet using a cable. With this, applications such as Picasa and Youtube can be accessed through the player. The blu-ray player also needs regular updates to its firmware, which can be done through the Ethernet cable, or through compact discs, in case internet is not available. The player has a USB input and an SD input in its front, which makes it easy to access and compatible with mp3 players and SD cards containing pictures etc. This way content can be played from other sources also, apart from discs. The remote is also very user friendly with logically arranged buttons, which makes it easy to find related functions for menus.
The player does not have any sort of internal memory. This is a con, when compared to all the features it has. All memory comes either from the SD card or the USB flash drive, other than the disc. One more major concern among the player’s customers is its load time. The time taken by a disc to be loaded is between 30-60 seconds, which most of them consider long. There is also no built in wi-fi in the device, which is quite disappointing. It has to be connected to the internet using a cable. Also, in this player, the user can stream videos only from youtube using the internet and not Netflix and Amazon. The device does not have an open/close button on it, though its there on the remote and the user has to go to the player anyways to change the disc, which isn’t that sensible.
Blu-ray is a new and amazing technology and has to be spread to know more about its advanced features. For what the Panasonic DMP-BD60 Blu-Ray Disc Player Black has to offer, it’s a small price topay. For a reliable, high performance, video watching experience, this player is definitely a yes.
