Many people find buying a mountain bike frustrating and time-consuming task. In this article you will learn some good tips that will help buy a great mountain bike.
1. Know your price range
You should know how much money you are willing to spend for a new bicycle. Do not buy from huge merchant stores such as Wal-Mart. You will get a much better service when you buy at your local bike shop.
2. Determine your style

3. Hard tail or full suspension

To make the right decision, think about your price range, riding style, and the type of terrain you'll be riding on the most.
4. Compare only most important components
Do not try to compare all mountain bikes components. It's impossible because there are numerous combinations available. What you should do is find a small number of components that are most important. Make sure the rest fall within your price range.
5. Buy in the fall and winter
Prices of mountain bikes often fluctuate during the year. The main buying season for these bicycles is the spring and summer when they are most expensive. Wait for the fall and winter when the price drops. You can save a few hundred dollars.
6. Find good dealer
Finding a good bike dealer should be your priority. Not finding the best price. Locate a dealer that will sell you a great bike not a costly one. Also, try to find a dealer that has a repair shop.
7. Research
Read bike reviews. They are a great method to discover a mountain bike's reliability and overall performance. Find out what other bikers think about a bike.
