Mario Kart Wii bike-kart comparison on GCN DK Mountain compiled by Kram.mp4
Which mountain bike is better?
I have narrowed my mountain bike search (or I think I have) to either the Trek 4300 or the Specialized Hard Rock Sport. I have ridden both and both feel the same. I can't really tell the difference because I am a beginner mountain biker.
In your opinions, what bike do you believe is better with price, components, and overall performance.
A comparison of the two will be great. Thank you, as this is a big investment for me.
Hi there! The Trek 4300 has a great frame, great handlebars and headset, its fun to ride and its light and responsive. It has off-road capabilities, gives you a smooth ride and all parts on the bike are high quality. It's great as an introductory bike or weekend bike outings and its excellent value for the price that many retailers/specialists are selling it for. Their only weakness could be the the stock pedals, because they came loose fast and the fork makes a clicking sound. The gears don't change as smooth, but for the average rider, you won't have any problems just riding without getting rough and being a hard core downhill ride. For a recreational rider this bike is perfect. It can cop a lot of abuse, because I've taken mine to hell and back, and its still together, adn the frame is strong, but lightweight.
The Specialized Hard Rock Sport is very good in itself. However, the gearing should be upgraded and better brakes would be handy, since they don't offer disc brakes on the model. The frame design is certainly impressive, because it provides built-in protection from hard impacts near the front. It looks very clasy and its beginner-friendly, because of the position of saddle and the head-up stance. The handling of the bike is very good, and the fork lacks the lockout. The biggest disappointement is the brakes, but it is durable. I would recommend both.
Personally, though, I'd take the Trek 4300 as Specialized doesn't do cheap. Since this is a big investment, you could look into Giant or Avanti bikes as well.
Hope this helps!
