Join The Cycling Revolution
Cycling is the use of bicycles, unicycles, tricycles, quadricycles and other similar wheeled human powered vehicles (HPVs) as a means of transport, a form of recreation or a sport. Cycling time triallists gain a significant performance advantage if, on the day before competition, they train at exactly the same time as the competition is scheduled to start.
As a sport, cycling is governed internationally by the Union Cycliste Internationale in Switzerland (for upright bicycles) and by the International Human Powered Vehicle Association (for other HPVs, or human-powered vehicles). They range from the one-day road race, criterium, and time trial to multi-stage events like the Tour de France and its sister events which make up cycling's Grand Tours. Two broad and correlated themes run in bicycle activism: one is about advocating the bicycle as an alternative mode of transport, and the other is about the creation of conditions to permit and/or encourage bicycle use, both for utility and recreative cycling.

With assistance from the Cycling Promotion Fund, we've compiled a list of maintenance courses around the country suitable for women of all bike riding persuasions. These amazing talented people should have a strong desire to want to be part of something big, something that will benefit Manitoba, its kids and families, the cycling community, and do it with a dedication that only the cycling community can muster.
The enormous response the competition received, the hard work so many towns and cities put into planning their bids, and high level support gained, is testament to the growing commitment to cycling seen in local authorities across the country.
Bike
Bike racing is fast, exciting, and develops tremendous fitness. Road bikes tend to have a more upright shape and a shorter wheelbase, which make the bike more mobile but harder to ride slowly. In the past decade, mountain bike racing has also reached international popularity and is even an Olympic sport.
Short of riding without my helmet or actually breaking decency laws, nothing makes me feel more naked on the bike than not having my bike computer along for the ride. Kids love getting out on the bike as much as we do, but how old should they be.
