2 - Adjusting a Rear Derailleur
need help identifying vintage 10 speed bike?
i need help trying to identify a vintage ('70s) ten speed bike. i need to know who made it,model, and year made.
it is an all chrome frame with no markings other than a long number stamped on the frames main tube for the fork that is M080023780T3101070 other than this, there is a fragment of a sticker, located at the very bottom of the seat tube(black and white in color) that reads, "??? COMPANY) top. bottom "???BURG,TENN. USA", and on one side is "04-78".
the peripherals that make up the bike:
-23" center to top of seat post
-shimano shift levers, shimano titlist uniglide front derailer
-bi-plane fork
-sun-tour rear derailer and sproket
-sagino pedal and sprocket
-chang-star brakes
IF ANYONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT THIS BIKE, and is willing to fill me in, WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. link to website(s)would be great also.
It was made by Murray Bicycle Company in April 1978, in Brentwood Tennessee.
Murray has not made a bike in at least a decade, and to my knowledge folded sometime in 2004. The Murray name was bought by someone for use on a series of lawn equipment.
Not a real good bike but fine for riding around as a "rain bike".
